March 2022

Dear Members and Friends,

Last Wednesday after church I watched as Russian troops began their invasion of Ukraine.  The sobering images and commentary sent me to the Bible Lesson.  "... the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;"  (2 Cor. 10:4)

"Strong holds" from Strong's Exhaustive Concordance - the arguments and reasonings by which a disputant endeavours to fortify his opinion and defend it against his opponent.

The Reading Room and the Metaphysical Committee are committed to praying for mankind. Join us.  The Reading Room is a haven for prayer and study. Pertinent articles are bookmarked on our computers. the Bible Lesson is marked in books and available online.

As we pray, assiduously and importunately the world will be blessed.  Let's realize an honest, peaceful resolution to this conflict.  We will support this commitment through the Reading Room, bulletin boards, desk notices and email.

Send your thoughts and fruitage to fccsroswellrr@gmail.com.

We are Christian Scientists and our weapons are mighty. The Kingdom of Heaven Is at hand.

With love,

From the Editors of the Christian Science Sentinel:

Praying for Ukraine

Many of us felt a foreboding this week as events in Eastern Europe unfolded. We began asking how we could possibly pray effectively for peace to prevail. There’s a yearning in so many hearts to feel the presence and power of God’s goodness and love, right where disaster looms.

Seeking this deeper understanding of God as divine Love, we wanted to join with you to address aggression and war. And Jeannie Ferber, a Christian Scientist with longstanding ties to the region, graciously agreed to share her spiritual insights in dealing with these pressing needs. Thank you for joining with Jeannie and us in praying for peace.
