How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! (Isaiah 52:7)

THE PRAYER FOR PEACE

Dearly Beloved:

I request that every member of The Mother Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, pray each day for the amicable settlement of the war between Russia and Japan;
and pray that God bless that great nation and those islands of the sea with peace and prosperity.

(My. 279:20–27)

From the Papers: A notable Christmas sermon

"On December 26, 1880, Mary Baker Eddy delivered a Christmas sermon, “The Nativity of Jesus,” at Horticultural Hall in Boston, Massachusetts...This sermon offered a new and radical interpretation of the life and work of Jesus....She also expounded here on the importance of Mary’s experience of a virgin birth and on Mary’s spiritual intuition as being essential to Jesus’s later healing mission."

We hope you enjoy this account of a very special sermon.

This collection of writings shares Mary Baker Eddy’s Christmas inspiration through letters, articles, sermons, poetry, and messages to churches.

In Miscellaneous Writings Mrs. Eddy states,

"It is most fitting that Christian Scientists
memorize the nativity of Jesus."

Therefore it is "most fitting" that for the first time the Christmas messages include the account of Jesus’ birth from the Biblical gospels of Matthew and Luke!

This inspiring collection highlights the spiritual power of Christmas to bring healing and light to humanity.
