How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! (Isaiah 52:7)

Reading Room Newsletter

December 2022

Dear Members and Friends,

The Reading Room is preparing for the Christmas holiday.  If you would like to give a gift from the Reading Room let us know. Most orders are delivered within 5 business days.  Consider the large type Prose Works - a beautiful volume to study from.  Perhaps a set of leather books and markers since there is nothing quite like reading the Bible lesson from the books. We will have copies of What Christmas Means to Me and Christ and Christmas.

There are several children's books in stock.  Some of these are new this year!  Also - don't forget the periodicals.  The Journal, Sentinel and Monitor all provide a reasonable and inspiring gift.

Our inventory of pamphlets will continue to be on sale at $5.75 until 2023.  At which time they will increase to $7.00.  Perhaps you would like to add one to your collection? Come see what's in stock.

Our Leader talks about celebrating "Christmas in quietude"... Whether you need a place to study or a book to inspire we have the answer.

With love,
Andrea Hunter, Librarian

 Mary Baker Eddy Library:

women of history

Read the untold story of a woman whose rich contributions to the Christian Science movement spanned eight decades.

"Christian Science came into our home when I was a small child. My mother was healed through reading Science and Health and delivered from a life of semi-invalidism. My father, too, found Christian Science of great help; his business reverses were wiped out and replaced by an increasing sense of security and prosperity. Christian Science meant everything in our home. "   -- Gwalter

Relief from the fields: Tackling food waste, hunger in one swoop

I so love reading the Monitor. It lifts me up. There are amazing things going on in our world I would never know about without it.  E.W.

editorial: Hallelujah!

By Thomas Mitchinson

From the December 2022 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"How much will we respect the Christ this Christmas season? Will we keep the Christ—the healing Truth Jesus demonstrated and taught—uppermost in our thinking this holiday and then, not just in December, but all year long?

Will we pray for ourselves and others? Will we conform our lives to the Christianity that Christ Jesus lived? Will we so mirror what Jesus taught, that others will take notice and feel the presence of God and His Christ? "
