How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! (Isaiah 52:7)

June 2022

Dear Members and Friends,

June is time for Annual Meeting in Boston - whether we meet in person or join online this is an important Manual-based opportunity to take stock of our global mission and express gratitude for blessings over the past year.  If you need help connecting to the online meeting, our staff is willing to help.

This issue also contains a Monitor article on a new exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C..  The exhibit features the words of Mary Baker Eddy in reference to the nexus of science and religion. Click the button to read the article in full.

As we continue to pray for peace in the world the Reading Room Computers include a growing list of articles to support you in this work.  Just load JSHonline and note the bookmarks.  Again, the staff is happy to help navigate to these excellent articles.

With love,
Andrea Hunter, Librarian
Hallie Keel, Asst. Librarian / Editor

Join us for Annual Meeting 2022 in Boston or online, June 6, at 1p.m. (ET). You’re invited to take part in the events scheduled throughout the weekend before Annual Meeting.

If you are in Boston, we encourage you to visit the new experience at the Christian Science Publishing House, How Do You See the World?. These exhibits spotlight the inspired actions of people globally and complement this year’s Annual Meeting theme:

One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations;
constitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, “Love thy neighbor as thyself;” annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry, — whatever is wrong in social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.

— Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 340

Science and religion:
Smithsonian exhibit
explores the intersections

"In the middle of the (Smithsonian) exhibit, between display cases that line the walls, are panels of eight people whose words are displayed next to other thematic questions such as: “Can religion be scientific?” The founder of this newspaper, Mary Baker Eddy, is included on the panel with that question, as is a partial quote from her book, 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.' The Christian Science Journal

Time not a factor in healing of growth

By Karen D. Chapman

From the June 2022 issue of The Christian Science Journal

“The recuperative action of the system, when mentally sustained by Truth, goes on naturally” (p. 447). I realized that I had to affirm that it was Truth, not time, that was the healer—that all healing is the result not of any material action but of the work of God.
